OnePlaybook Video Updates Have Arrived

About Packages, Updates, Uploading, Video

Just this morning, I released another update for OnePlaybook!  There are a few things that are new to this version, so let’s take a look.

The biggest difference is the new packages.  There are two new playbook software packages, Enhanced and Ultimate.  The video for each is better than the previous packages, with Ultimate being in high definition (720p).  I don’t think there is another HD sports video host around, so this is some exciting stuff!  In addition, the quality of the Plus package has also been improved.  I’m going to follow up over the next few days detailing some of the differences in the packages to give coaches more background.

I also improved the uploading in OnePlaybook.  Now there is more information about how far the upload is along.  This is following some earlier improvements that included support for less common browsers.  The new upload system allows a coach to choose multiple uploads at the same time in addition to being faster than the old system.

One final bit is that there is a new tutorial out for coaches that will help them get starting using our playbook software faster by uploading their team’s roster.  Check it out, it will definitely help with the tedium!

About Milestone

No comments, be first...

It happened on January 3rd, but I wanted to update everyone and let them know that there are now over 300 teams on OnePlaybook!

In November, we had hit 200 teams using our playbook software, and that was when we were offering the free accounts to get feedback and information from coaches.  Before that, in October, we had hit 100 teams’ coaches.  Our playbook software‘s quality has gone up and all we can do is look forward to the future.

In the near future, we are going to be adding new packages that have an even higher quality of video than the sports software packages we offer now!

As with all of the accounts, you will be able to upload as many videos as you want, and your players can view them as often as they want.  Imagine your players sitting by themselves reviewing better film than a projector can give them from anywhere!

Current Standard and Plus accounts will be given the opportunity to upgrade to the new packages minus the price they already paid, so coaches who want to upgrade to the latest sports software, don’t worry, you don’t have to pay extra!

Coaching Resources, or Lack Thereof

About Blogs, Coaching Resources

After reading Marc Meyer’s great sports and social media article, I was emailing back and forth with Marc about coaches’ online habits.  It made me really think about how coaches really don’t have many resources available out there for them.

Most sports-related websites are tailored towards news and fans responding to professional or college sports.  There are some instructional resources out there, but most of those revolve around the proper way to throw a baseball or how to tackle in football.  There are not all that many sites that really focus on coaching and how to help coaches.  There are sports-specific forums available, but even then, they are few and far between.

It can be summed up with what I wrote to Marc:

There really isn’t much out there for coaches by way of communities.  Most of the time when a site involves sports it’s usually aimed at the fans or news instead of being for coaches and/or players.

It’s really an unfortunate truth and one that I hope the future developments of OnePlaybook can remedy, for example with things like our sports software tutorials.

Twitter and Tutorial

I just posted a new football playbook tutorial on our playbook software tutorials blog.  It should be a quick and easy walkthrough for coaches who are new to OnePlaybook and don’t quite know about the play-drawing features it includes or for coaches who are wondering how OnePlaybook’s online playbook can help their team.

In addition, I’m going to start consistently updating Twitter with how things are going with OnePlaybook.  It’s another way to make sure that coaches know we’re always ready to connect with them and listen to them in any way to help their team out.  If you don’t know what Twitter is, it’s a micro-blogging tool that has rocketed to popularity because of it’s beatiful simplicity and ability for people to connect with one another.
